What makes it ultimate?
Let’s talk trim: outside, there are carbon side strakes with rose gold lettering and inside there are carbon treadplates and more ‘Ultimate’ script on plaques and embroidered into the extravagantly quilted seats’ headrests.
Buyers can choose from three paint schemes, and three interior schemes. The former includes Ultimate Black paint (pictured, helpfully, in a dark studio) with copper bronze graphics around the grille, sills and diffuser. The other two options are Xenon Grey with cobalt blue graphics, and White Gold with bronze graphics.
Inside, the three choices are Obsidian Black leather with tan stitching (pictured), Phantom Grey with yellow accents and blue stitching, and tan leather with black accents.
The Mini Challenge race car
No change in the engine bay – like the regular Vanquish S, a naturally aspirated V12 supplies 595bhp and one of the most evocative exhaust notes in the automotive kingdom. It’s coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with a paddle-shift function.
Three-stage adaptive dampers are standard, as are carbon-ceramic brakes.
How much is the Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate edition?
For Coupe, it’s £211,995 the UK, and in Germany it’s €278,995; for the Volante, it’s £223,995 or €293,995.
On sale now, deliveries begin in early 2018.
